The South African comedian bid adieu to the late-night show he has hosted since 2015.

Throughout the show, there was only laughter and smiles. Each segment the correspondents presented featured roasts and laughs at Noah’s expense sharing favorite moments about the comedian and the relationships made in the show.“I’ve often been credited with having these grand ideas and people always go oh Trevor your so smart.

Noah also shared his gratitude to the people who critiqued him, the ones that pointed out things they didn’t like “even the people who hate-watch, we still got the ratings, thank you.”“The Daily Show” will return to filming in January, where it already has an A-list cast of guest hosts lined up to replace Noah including “SNL” alum Leslie Jones, comedian Chelsea Handler and former US Senator Al Franken.

Noah has not indicated what he will be doing next but will be taking some time to spend with loved ones and see the world. “This is a moment where I’ll be making time for family, for friends, to travel a little bit more,” Noah told Daily Show correspondent Desi Lydic. “I’m not leaving for a movie, I’m not leaving for another show, I don’t have anything lined up for at the moment.”

Noah took a final sip from his mug and placed it under his desk as the camera panned to a cheering audience.
