Not quite Trevor Time: When the Jaguars take the field for Thursday night's Hall of Fame Game, don't look for quarterback Trevor Lawrence on the field.
Etienne, who has shown no effects of the Lisfranc injury that cost him his entire rookie season in 2021, has been ruled out of Thursday night's preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders in the Hall of Fame game.
Jaguars coach Doug Pederson had already ruled Etienne out for Thursday's game, along with quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Jake Luton will start at QB for the Jaguars. He is listed as third string. Second string QB C.J. Beathard is not expected to play as he is coming off a groin injury he sustained during a goal-line period in OTAs.of Marysville, Wash., started three games for the Jaguas in 2020 but didn’t survive the final cut-down day under former coach Urban Meyer last year.
According to depth chart released Monday, rookie Snoop Connor will start at running back during the Hall of Fame game.— Times-Union staff writer Garry Smits contributed to this report
