For Lawrence, the award caps what has arguably been the greatest stretch of play during his time in the NFL. According to the Jaguars, the quarterback has led the team to a 5-0 record since the start of December, completing 64% of his passes for nearly 1,400 yards , 13 touchdowns to go along with 124 rushing yards and four more scores. The passing yards and passing touchdown numbers were tops in the AFC during December, and the other numbers were all within the top six among AFC signal callers. Additionally, Lawrence made NFL history with his Week 15 performance against the Jets, becoming the only player to account for at least five passing touchdowns, 300 passing yards, a rushing TD, and 50 rushing yards in one game.
