Ohio has more flexibility with 7-on-7 events thanks to the Shaker Heights standout, who is down to his top eight schools. Ohio State is one of them.
Shaker Heights' Trey McNutt holds a megaphone while watching the NEO Rising Legends Showcase on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at John Carroll University. His job is already done on that front., allowing standouts like him and anyone else to freely compete around the country. Ranked among the nation’s top college football prospects in the Class of 2025, McNutt says it is more about the players who will follow him and those standouts immediately benefitting this spring.
“All eight of those schools have recruited me pretty hard,” McNutt said. “I see myself playing at all of those places. It’s really, at the end of the day, about where I really feel is home.” While watching Sunday’s 7-on-7, McNutt got a glimpse of his likely starting quarterback this fall in action. Jacire Eaddy led his team to the championship at the NEO Rising Legends Showcase, while McNutt watched with that megaphone.
It prompted McNutt to vocalize his displeasure with OHSAA rules, at the time that didn’t allow player to compete like he did in late January.
