According to authorities, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 800 block of Braintree Drive and discovered one person who had sustained a gunshot wound.According to the latest update, police are responding to a barricaded suspect at this time, and are asking residents near the location to stay in their homes. They have also called in additional law enforcement agencies to the scene for assistance.
A later update from officials confirmed that the shooting followed a noise dispute between a resident and a contracted tree trimmer. Authorities said the victim of the gunshot wound is employed by the tree trimming company. Police were called at 2:50 p.m. today in 800 blk. of S. Braintree for a person on ground w/ gunshot wound. Preliminary information indicates there was a noise dispute between a resident and contracted tree trimmer. Victim of the gunshot wound works for the tree trimming company.Nearby street closures remain in place and the suspect remains barricaded as police continue to work on resolving the issue, village officials said. Residents are asked to remain in their homes.
