Jeremy Sochan on the mend, the San Antonio Spurs were close to playing their first fully healthy game of the season
PHOENIX – Backup point guard Tre Jones left Sacramento ’s Golden1 Center on Sunday with his left arm in a sling. Such a medical accessory might as well be a part of the Spurs’ newest uniform fad. The Spurs have not played a single came this season with a completely healthy roster, a trend that appears apt to continue with Jones nursing a shoulder sprain courtesy of a Domantas Sabonis screen.
When it comes to Wembanyama, there is no comparison In seven starts, Sochan averaged 15.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and three assists, while remaining his particularly pestering self on the defensive end. “No matter what numbers Jeremy puts up, he brings a certain level of physicality to the game,” Champagnie said. “He's like that every night.” How Sochan will fit into a rotation that has been somewhat rolling remains to be seen.
For Spurs, NBA Cup games worth more than money The 3-point record was bound to fall eventually, as the Spurs have at last joined the rest of the league in hoisting them up. Heading into Tuesday, the Spurs were averaging 40.4 3-point tries per game, fourth-most in the NBA. Their 14.5 made 3-pointers per game ranks in the top 10. With Sacramento back on the schedule Friday at the Frost Bank Center, the Spurs’ new 3-point record might not last long.
