Gritzewsky fue liberada después de 55 días, durante el único acuerdo de alto al fuego anterior hace un año. Quince rehenes han sido liberados de Gaza, a cambio de cientos de prisioneros y detenidos palestinos, mientras el alto al fuego en la guerra que ha devastado Gaza entra en su segunda semana completa.
