People who want to see main thoroughfares easier and safer for people who are not using a car may be able to move community planners in that direction, if a new survey bears fruit. The Mobile Metropolitan Planning Organization, an intergovernmental agency tasked with improving the area’s transportation, is in the process of creating a new master plan for bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and it’s looking for citizen input.“We’re hoping to improve all kinds of infrastructure around the county, to identify the needs of cyclists and pedestrians,” Tom Piper, Transportation Planning Director with the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission, said.
