Transit Systems Adds Even More Buses To Australia’s Largest EV Fleet, helping to clean up carbon emissions for more commuters!

Transit Systems continues to lead the public transport sustainability revolution, adding another 19 battery electric buses to its New South Wales fleet, as the company nears completion of world-first charging infrastructure at Leichhardt depot.

The 19 new battery electric buses include ten 368kW Nexport buses and nine 422kW Yutong buses. Within the coming weeks, the Leichhardt depot supporting infrastructure will be fully commissioned including:• 2.5MW/4.9MWh on-site battery storage system to support bus charging and reduce grid upgrade requirements• Innovative smart charging strategies to reduce grid impact, and guarantee fully charged buses.

“We’re proud to work alongside Government partners with the same vision to deliver a greener commute, and we’re excited about the possibilities that see us partner with Australian manufacturers, as well as bringing world-class technology into our local network,” he said. Transit Systems will also welcome another two Australian-built hydrogen fuel cell buses into its fleet, along with a further nine battery electric buses as part of the Victorian Government’s Zero Emissions Bus Trial.
