🏠 Out with the old, in with the new! Lincoln's old garages make way for fresh council homes.
Lincoln councillors plan to cram more houses instead of garages in the city in a bid to solve housing issues and"design out" anti-social behaviour.
Labour councillor Gary Hewson said:"Let this be the start, we will be in the future looking at garage sites possibly further along the city centre changing them, because that’s the way forward." The detailed scheme boasts a variety of family homes, consisting of two and three-bedroom units. Each dwelling is categorised as 100% affordable and is complemented with two parking areas, alongside an electric vehicle charging station.
Echoing the sentiment, Councillor Chris Burke commented:"This is an area of Park Ward which has much-needed improvements.""When that comes in there will be more parking when people stop using the area as a free car park." These upcoming houses will feature heat pumps, coupled with triple glazing, aiming for optimal energy efficiency.
