Screen Rant caught up with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Josh Cooley about Transformers One. Di Bonaventura explained when Transformers One is set in the timeline, shared his hopes for a sequel, and confirmed a Transformers G.I. Joe crossover. Cooley discussed exploring the new dynamic between Optimus Prime and Megatron.
Transformers One Shows Optimus Prime & Megatron Like "You've Never Seen On Screen" "The relationship between these two characters is what got me on board immediately." Josh, I feel like this is a Transformers film made by a Transformers fan, for Transformers fans, while not alienating anybody new.
That's what I love hearing from the fans and from anybody that's seen the movie so far, they're like, this is not what I thought it was going to be. Some people are like, I had no idea this existed, this relationship existed. I mean, just as a filmmaker just show somebody something new and go, I had no idea that I needed to see this, is always really satisfying.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura: There are going to be two things. Number one, if we're successful with this movie, we're going to do a sequel for this. We already have, I think, the beginnings of a really interesting story for the second one, which is also character based, the way the first . Josh, last question for you is, when did you have your pinch me moment? I'm working on a Transformers movie.
