This year's silent auction and luncheon donated money from bids to support the Salvation Army.
The Anchorage Daily News in partnership with ProPublica published a story on April 21, reported by special projects editor and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Kyle Hopkins.
Hopkins obtained secretly recorded audio of Anchorage Deputy Director of Library Services, Judy Eledge, calling Alaska Native people"woke" and"racists," among other discriminatory remarks directed at LGBTQ+ people. Alaska's News Source spoke to Hopkins about the recorded conversation and some of the complaints that have been filed against Eledge.
