It's a 'special property'
The boom in staycations led one Nottinghamshire couple to pick up the letting gauntlet when considering retirement. Transforming part of their home into a unique separate living space with its cast iron printing press, original artwork and 75 ft chimneys, the property owners have now walked away with a top award for the accommodation.
The pair were originally drawn to the property because of its unique architecture and tranquil riverside location, and its design made the transformation easy. Splitting the property in half created a two-bedroom, self-contained holiday let that was perfectly placed to rent out.Nicholas and Claire’s artistic flair and professional interior design backgrounds is showcased with the property.
Since opening its doors in May 2021, , the couple say the property has been a huge hit with holidaymakers. It has now been crowned winners in Sykes Holiday Cottages’ nationwide search to find UK and Ireland’s best holiday lets, which bagged them a £500 cash prize in the process. Nicholas said: “We are so excited about our award win and it’s brilliant to have been recognised alongside so many other incredible properties. Although we love the quirkiness of our property, it’s sometimes hard to know if the design will resonate with others, but we’re so proud of what we’ve created and it has clearly been a success so far.”
