APACHE COUNTY, Arizona — A train carrying gasoline derailed Friday near Interstate 40 and caught fire, officials said.
Citizens in Apache County are advised to stay away from the area of milepost 3 on I-40. Emergency crews are working to stop the fire from spreading.said I-40 has been shut down at the Arizona-New Mexico state line and traffic is being diverted to Navajo Route 12 toward Window Rock. Eastbound traffic is being diverted onto U.S. 191 at Chambers.Emergency Alert: An ACC Railroad Inspector is responding to a BNSF train derailment near Lupton, AZ, close to the NM border.
