Detectives have launched enquiries to confirm the man's identity and a post-mortem examination will take place
Emergency services were called to Stonebridge Lane in Croxteth at around 4.50am today . Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
A white tent and cordon surround the bus stop have been set up by police and a small section of road is also blocked off. The ECHO reports that forensic officers have been at the scene.Police confirmed his death is currently being treated as unexplained but was not initially believed to be suspicious. to establish the cause of death.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm police are in attendance after a body was found in Croxteth this morning, Monday 21 November. At around 4.50am, the ambulance service contacted police to report a man being found lying on Stonebridge Lane. "He was sadly found deceased. Enquiries are ongoing to confirm his identity. The incident is currently being treated as unexplained but not initially believed to be suspicious."
