Significant damage occurred when a digger struck the bridge in March 2023.

Traffic management will be in place on the A90 at Glencarse for long-awaited works to the damaged overbridge to begin – almost 18 months since it was struck by a digger.

Specialist testing and investigation works and temporary repairs were carried out on the bridge in November last year to inform permanent repairs on restoring the bridge’s integrity after the discovery of bats - a protected species - further delayed works to fix the bridge – which has been struck three times.

An Amey spokesperson said: “There will be a requirement for some form of traffic management to allow the work to be carried out safely.
