There was one upset this year, in the sweets/dessert category
Mandarin Orange Chicken still rules.The SoCal-based grocery store group has announced its, and for the 12th time, that convenient frozen entree has captured the top honor, Best Overall Product.
“Thousands of customers responded to our call for votes to name their very favorite Trader Joe’s products,” the company said in its announcement. “We’ve tallied the ballots, and while some of the winners may surprise you, others may be just as you expected.” Once, in 2020, Mandarin Chicken was upset. That was the year the Everything But the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend — the sesame/garlic/sea salt/onion combination that customers love in a dip, on baked potatoes, mixed with macaroni and cheese or in a panko coating for chicken or fish — was voted the customer favorite.
Alas, that honor was short-lived. Mandarin Chicken was back on top last year. The seasoning was a runner-up. There was, however, an upset in another category. Hold the Cone! Mini Ice Cream Cones dethroned the perennial favorite, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, in Favorite Sweets/Desserts.
