Last year the Lower Allen Township Development Authority announced Trader Joe's is opening at the Lower Allen Commons.

It won’t be long until Trader Joe’s road trips are all but a memory.

He added construction is almost complete at the store located near the Routes 11/15 and Route 581 interchange in the vicinity of the Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township.Lower Allen Township Development Authority“Seriously. I’ve been waiting my entire adult life for this. I never thought it would be less than 2 miles from my house!,” wrote Casey Welsh on the “Bring Trader Joe’s to Harrisburg, PA” Facebook page.Trader Joe’s is one of the most desired grocery stores in the nation.

Joe Coulombe opened the first Trader Joe’s stores and named it to evoke the image of the South Seas. In 1979 it was sold to German grocery mogul Theo Albrecht, whose family is behind the Aldi Nord supermarket company in Germany.

Man wanted for robbery, assault in Cumberland CountyAuthorities are looking for a man wanted for a robbery and assault in Cumberland County. On Jan. 16, Upper Allen Police say they were dispatched for a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of Gettysburg Pike. The investigation revealed that 34-year-old Justin Warner, of Mechanicsburg, assaulted and forcibly stole property from the victim before leaving the scene, according to authorities. Warner is charged with robbery, theft by unlawful taking, simple assault and harassment.
