Trader Joe's has announced a voluntary recall of its sparkling water due to a potential risk of glass cracking and potential laceration hazard.

Trader Joe's has issued a recall for approximately 61,500 glass bottles of sparkling water sold in 12 states due to a potential risk of cracking or damage. The affected bottles, manufactured in Germany, pose a laceration hazard to consumers. The sparkling water , priced at around $3.00 per 750-milliliter bottle, was available individually or in packs of 15.

The recall was initiated after research revealed potential bottle breakage during production, potentially impacting 1% of bottles with specific lot codes. Trader Joe's has urged customers who possess bottles with the affected lot codes to refrain from using them and to dispose of them carefully. Consumers are advised to return the recalled bottles to any Trader Joe's store for a full refund, regardless of whether they have a receipt. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has confirmed that refunds will be provided in cash or credit without requiring proof of purchase
