Here are the Garden State athletes set to compete in Philadelphia later this month.
Clayton’s Alanna Woolfolk participates in the girls high jump during the South Jersey Group 1 Track and Field Sectional Finals at Buena Regional High School, Saturday, June 4, 2022.A total of 34 boys and 31 girls make up the N.J. athletes competing in the nine individual events at the Penn Relays later this month at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.
On Tuesday, meet officials announced the list of high school qualifiers for nine events – two distance races and seven field events. Acceptances for the distance medley and 4x800-meter relay will be announced on April 17. According to the Penn Relays regulations, athletes can only compete in one of the nine individual events. Athletes who hit the qualifying standard do not automatically gain entry.
Additionally, teams competing in the 4x100 and 4x400 do not qualify. Almost every team in the 4x100 can enter and teams competing in the 4x400 gain entry once they’ve hit the qualifying standard of 3:40 for the boys and 4:20 for the girls.You can find the list of New Jersey qualifiers by event below.
