Fort Bend Marshall competes in the Class 5A girls 400-meter relay during the Region III Track & Field Championships at Turner Stadium, Saturday, April 29, 2023, in Humble.There was plenty of action on the track at Turner Stadium in Humble on Saturday evening as teams from across the Houston area competed in the Region III track and field running finals.
Summer Creek captured the girls 6A crown with 70 points, beating out Atascocita and Shadow Creek . Atascocita took home the boys 6A crown with a score of 96, easily topping second-place Ridge Point and third-place Summer Creek . Fort Bend Marshall had a strong showing in 5A as the boys won the regional title with 79 points. Their next closest competitor was Georgetown . The Marshall girls finished third as the top local team with 60 points.
Here's a look at the Houston-area results and state qualifiers. The top two finishers in each event advanced to the state meet, which will be held May 12-13 at Mike A.
