Toyota on Jan. 6, 2019 revealed plans to build a prototype "city of the future" on a 175-acre site at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. The project, known as the Woven City, is expected to break ground in 2021.The master plan for the city includes three sectors for research of such technologies: fast vehicles; mix of lower speed, personal mobility and pedestrians; and a park-like promenade for pedestrians.
