The automaker has invested over $1.7 billion into its facilities in Alabama

The site builds four-, six-, and eight-cylinder engines and supplies seven Toyota plants in North America. Engines made in Alabama go into models like the Corolla, Highlander, RAV4, Sienna, and Tundra. Toyota has announced an additional $282 million investment into its Huntsville, Alabama site, and confirmed the investment will add 350 new jobs.

“The new lines will further increase the plant’s flexibility and reaffirm Toyota’s commitment to our team and community.” Toyota Alabama supplies engines to seven Toyota manufacturing sites in North America. Engines built at the site power the Corolla, Corolla Cross, Highlander, RAV4, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra. With much of the automotive industry slowly transitioning to battery-electric vehicles, employees at the plant can rest easy knowing their jobs are secure.
