The Summer Cup tournament will include all 14 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) teams and the top six teams from Mexico’s Liga MX Feminil.
Toyota Field will add another chapter to its history as a site for big games on Friday, Oct. 25, when it plays host to the inaugural NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup championship game. San Antonio FC’s home pitch was announced as the site of the championship game on Tuesday. “We are thrilled to host the first-ever final of this exciting tournament,” Director of Toyota Field and STAR Soccer Complex Jose Lizardo said.
The Dash, which joined the league in 2014, will be in Group C of the tournament with the Kansas City Current and Mexican clubs Tigres UANL and Club Pachuca. The Summer Cup will begin with the group stage on July 19. Kansas City’s CPKC Stadium will host the semifinals on Aug. 6. All games in the tournament will be aired on Paramount+ with the championship game also being televised on CBS Sports Network. Toyota Field has had no shortage of big games this year.
