Tourism sector rallies behind De Lille after accusations she destroyed the department
The tourism industry has united in support of Patricia de Lille in the wake of criticism of her handling of the affairs of SA Tourism, a state-owned enterprise tasked selling the country as a destination of choice for local and international tourists.SAT to the ground leaving it in a leadership and financial crisis in disregard to Parliament.
Rallying behind the minister are the Association of Southern African Travel Agents , the Federated Hospitality Association of South Africa , Southern Africa Tourism Services Association , Southern African Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association as well as the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry .
De Lille had demonstrated genuine intent to lead and engage on matters impacting our industry, according to Asata CEO, Otto de Vries.We have seen responsiveness to the concerns raised and action taken to intervene on critical issues.
