Susie Wolff's criminal complaint against the FIA stems back to a situation from over the winter break...

Toto Wolff has shared his thoughts on his wife and F1 Academy managing director Susie lodging a criminal complaint against the FIA in the French courts.

Claims that the investigation had been triggered by complaints raised by rival team bosses were quickly headed off by all nine teams in an unprecedented show of cooperation that had the effect of shining the spotlight back at the FIA as to the basis of the investigation. While the matter had seemingly blown over almost as quickly as it began, Mercedes confirmed the Wolffs would weigh up their legal options – leading to Susie lodging her criminal complaint in France, where the FIA is based.Wolff’s statement read: “I can confirm that I personally filed a criminal complaint in the French courts on the 4“There has still not been any transparency or accountability in relation to the conduct of the FIA and its personnel in this matter.

With Lewis Hamilton also showing his backing for Wolff by saying there has been a “lack of accountability” in F1, the seven-time World Champion said: “I love that she’s taken it out of this world, fighting it from the outside, because there is a real lack of accountability here within this sport, within the FIA, things that are happening behind closed doors, there is no transparency.

“And, on the other side, it is the case and the fact that all year now we have been talking about cases of transparency and various other factors that are just not great,” he said.“We should talk about the greatness of the sport and where we are, and not the other stuff, but it needs to be pointed to.”Australian GP: Red flag in FP1 as Alex Albon creates ‘muchos debris’ and Norris goes P1
