The Toronto Raptors sign former Ohio State forward Jamison Battle to an NBA contract after he scored 23 points between their first two Summer League games.

After initially giving Battle an opportunity to play for their NBA Summer League team, the Toronto Raptors signed the former Ohio State forward to an NBA contract on Tuesday.Battle landed his contract after scoring 23 points across the Raptors’ first two Summer League games. He scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting with one rebound and one assist in just 14:38 of game time in the Raptors’ Summer League opener, a 94-69 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Battle’s NBA opportunity comes after he scored 15.3 points per game while shooting 43.3% from the field in his lone season at Ohio State. The Minnesota native began his college career at George Washington, where he spent two years before transferring to his Golden Gophers, who he played two years with before becoming a Buckeye for his final year of collegiate eligibility.
