Scientists studying tornadoes are trying to develop new ways to give people living in mobile homes an earlier warning so they have more time to flee to safer places
The Southeast is particularly vulnerable when tornadoes hit because it has a large population and a high concentration of mobile homes.
Sunday’s storms, which killed at least 23 people, swept through the Southeast, spawning at least 41 tornadoes from Florida’s Panhandle into Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.
