Tornado damages buildings in Southern California; snow falls on mountains

In Carson, a strong storm cell spurred a small tornado that hit an industrial area, ripping away parts of the roofs of two buildings

“People in this part of the country don’t have basements or storm shelters, usually, so put as many walls between you and the tornado as possible,” he said. “Getting into the bathtub puts another area of walls around you and usually the bathroom has lots of pipes in the walls that can reinforce those walls.”
