A large tree fell overnight and landed on the hood of a pickup in a neighborhood near downtown Los Angeles.
A family was stunned to see their pickup under the trunk of a tree that fell overnight in Echo Park. Alex Rozier reports for the NBC4 News at 11 a.m. on Friday Nov. 14, 2025. A large tree fell overnight and landed on the hood of a pickup early Friday morning in a neighborhood northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
No injuries were reported, but neighbors said they were awakened by the crash of the tree as its thick trunk landed on the Ford F-150, shattering the windshield and crumpling the front of the pickup. The truck's owners said the pickup has been in the family for a long time. Hugo Basquez said his mother woke him up around 4 a.m. after she received a Citizen app alert about the downed tree. "When I first saw it, I was in shock because this car has been many times in our family," Basquez said."We've been through a lot with this car, and seeing it like this is sad.
