So if you need a new laptop bag, or any tools of the trade, the full cost can be deducted from your taxable income.

If you have been thinking about donating to a charity, purchasing a subscription or membership related to work, consider purchasing them now and claiming the expenses. This already includes both mobile phone and internet expenses, unlike the previous method, and the ATO will be “on the look-out for double-dipping”, H&R Block tax communications director Mark Chapman previously told 7NEWS.com.au.
