She claims her husband abused her mentally, verbally and physically during their marriage

A top Interpol cop has told a court her “insecure, jealous” husband flipped when she was compared to a Rangers WAG.

Miss Nicholas, who has been a cop for 27 years, said she was initially “besotted by” him and that they quickly wed after a whirlwind romance. Giving evidence from behind a screen she told the court: “We were pretty much inseparable in the early days. We were engaged within months. I was besotted by him. It was a whirlwind romance.”

“He asked my sister, ‘what the f*** did you just say?’. He was raging. He was seething. Really furious. He left the room and was sitting on the stairs. He was bent over, with his head in his hands and was rocking back and forwards - a bit like an animal.” She also claimed Laing turned up at a girls’ weekend in Wales, where she was celebrating her birthday with her mum, sister and two cousins.
