The Garden State to Buckeye State pipeline got even more rich on Friday.

Quincy Porter of Bergen Catholic is all smiles after winning the NJSIAA Non-Public A football final between No. 1 Bergen Catholic and No. 2 Delbarton at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Tuesday, November 28, 2023.The rising senior and No. 36 nationally-ranked prospect in the 2025 class has committed to Ohio State, as first reported by On3′s Hayes Fawcett. Porter chose the Buckeyes over the likes of Alabama, Michigan, Penn State and others.

The New Milford native made an official visit to Columbus this past weekend and held more than 30 offers before settling on Ohio State. He’s the third member of the Class of 2025 from N.J. to pledge to the Buckeyes with DePaul’s De’zie Jones and DeShawn Stewart being the first two. Porter reeled in 53 passes for 1,107 yards and 19 touchdowns as a junior after a breakout sophomore campaign that included 35 catches for 662 yards and 11 scores. He wasNJ.com’s Offensive Player of the Year last season and is ranked as a Top-100 prospect per every recruiting service.

It’s the third recruiting cycle in a row in which the Buckeyes have dipped into the Garden State for talent. The Buckeyes signed Jayden McClain of Seton Hall Prep last year and St. Peter’s Prep standout Jayden Bonsu in the 2023 class. Porter will also team up in Columbus with familiar faces in Bergen Catholic product Tywone Malone, St. Peter’s Prep phenom Cody Simon, and fellow wide receiver Jeremiah Smith of Chaminade Madonna .
