Justin Fulcher, a senior advisor to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, has departed from the Pentagon after a six-month tenure. Fulcher cited a previously planned departure date as the reason for his resignation, highlighting the 'great work' being done by Hegseth.

A top advisor to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has departed from the Pentagon after serving for six months. Justin Fulcher , who served as a senior advisor to Hegseth since April, formally resigned on Thursday evening, according to a statement from the Department of Defense (DoD) to Fox News Digital. Fulcher described his decision as entirely his own, stating that he had originally planned to serve for six months and had reached that point.

He emphasized the 'great work' being done by Hegseth 'for our troops and country.' Fulcher played a key role in advising Hegseth on personnel and policy matters during his tenure. He contributed to reviews of major acquisition programs aimed at enhancing lethality and the U.S. industrial base, and streamlined software procurement timelines, modernizing key IT systems across the department. In addition, Fulcher participated in high-level meetings across the Indo-Pacific, including the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, and supported efforts to redirect nearly $50 billion from non-lethal line items into readiness and more impactful defense programs. He praised the dedication of the 'men and women of the Department of Defense' and highlighted progress in 'revitalizing the warrior ethos' and 'rebuilding the military.' Fulcher thanked both Hegseth and former President Trump for their leadership, stating, 'Still, this is just the beginning.' His statement also acknowledged the decisive leadership of Secretary Hegseth and the continued confidence of President Trump in their team. Fulcher announced his departure on X, stating that the experience has been 'incredibly inspiring.' While his future plans remain unclear, his statement suggests he intends to remain active in national security circles. The Pentagon has yet to name a replacement for Fulcher
