Oddities and Ends We’ve never seen a driver limp through the first two rounds of the playoffs and still somehow be in championship contention like Truex has. If the playoffs were its own season and everyone started fresh, Truex would be 24th in the standings after six races. He has scored fewer points during these playoffs than drivers like LaJoie, Ryan Preece, Aric Almirola and Chase Briscoe.
