The Smith Entertainment Group is asking fans in Salt Lake City to help name their new NHL franchise for next season. Here are the top five names on the 20-name list.
The Smith Entertainment Group is asking fans to help them decide what to name the NHL's newest franchise that will be playing in Salt Lake City. The Arizona Coyotes are no more, as the team's assests – players, coaches and management – head north from the desert to Utah. However, SEG, which also owns the NBA’s Utah Jazz, will have to start anew with an original nickname for their squad. A survey with 20 names has been made available to fans, and it will stay up until May 22.
Utah would have to get creative to make themselves standout and have the individuality they certainly wish to possess as the newest franchise. Swarm is another name that is on the list. FROST Like Yeti, Utah is clearly leaning into being one of the best skiing destinations in the country. They also have Powder, Blizzard and Black Diamonds on the list. However, Utah Frost just has that bite fans would love, especially with the different promotions SEG could have at the Delta Center.
