Facing one of the biggest battles of his life, Iron Man has a new design that emphasizes how far Tony Stark has fallen. The look is undeniably cool, but it also emphasizes how Tony has been beaten down and stripped of his greatest weapons and advantages.
While Tony recently won his company back from onetime rival Feilong, AIM and Roxxon took this as the perfect time to strike. Last issue, Iron Man was beaten down by the new Iron Monger and is shown walking with a cane, while his hi-tech suits have been corrupted by a magic virus. Injured, lacking his best tech, and being outplayed in the boardroom, Iron Man is as far from his 'billionaire, playboy, philanthropist ' image as he's ever been.
