The 2024 State of the State will be live on WSFA Tuesday, Feb. 6.MONTGOMERY, Ala. - WSFA 12 News will cover Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey’s seventh State of the State Address live tonight, followed by a live response from Alabama Democrats.
The broadcast will be carried statewide through our sister stations, owned by parent company Gray Television. Those stations include WBRC , WAFF , WALA , and WTVY . The stations’ live coverage will begin at 6 p.m. from the Old House Chamber of the Alabama State Capitol across these Alabama television stations and their online streaming channels. WSFA 12 News coverage will be found on-air and on this story on our website and mobile app, as well as on the WSFA+ stream, available for free on Roku, FireTV, AppleTV smart tv devices, and on YouTube. Among the topics Ivey is expected to address are her Education Savings Accounts bill, a topic that has been at the forefront of her 2024 legislative agenda. Ivey has invited Dr. Selwyn Vickers to join her as her guest at this year’s address. Students of the Jasper High School Competition Choir will perform various musical selections as legislators and others make their way into the Chamber at around 5:30 p.m. The governor has also invited students from ABC Elementary in Wilcox County, her home county, to be in attendance for the address.
