The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) in KZN says its new provincial chairperson was among the targets during Thursday's deadly shootings in Tongaat, north of Durban. ECRNewsWatch KZN
left five people dead and three others wounded.
"The target was our PEC member, but he survived because the majority of the guys that were shot were basically his bodyguards and may their souls rest in peace.READ:He says jockeying for positions within Santaco might have led to the attacks. "Those individuals were removed from the operations and even their vehicles were removed from operations, which then led to animosity between and amongst the leadership as well as the individuals that were removed from operations."
