“Dance Monkey” keeps swinging!
The Aussie singer and songwriter is named to APRA AMCOS’ The 1,000,000,000 List for “Dance Monkey,” a song that has smashed chart records on both sides of the globe.
Tones achieved the streaming feat faster than any other Aussie artist, reaching the milestone in November 2019 after the track’s May release. Written solely by Tones and recorded with Brisbane producer Konstantin Kersting, the song is now the longest-running No. 1 single in Australian recorded music history, with 24 non-consecutive weeks at the top. The song also logged 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Official U.K. Singles Charts, setting a new mark for a solo female artist.
