The senator called the current conflict 'unwinnable.'
Published: Sep. 26, 2024, 10:25 a.m.Calling the war between Russia and Ukraine “unwinnable,” Alabama U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville yesterday blasted the Biden Administration, saying it has no plan to win, even as Congress mulls more money for the conflict.
“War is a serious business,” Tuberville said. “We should understand that by now. You don’t half-ass your way into one and certainly don’t half-ass your way out of one. That doesn’t seem to resonate around here.” The conflict has killed or wounded roughly one million people between the two nations, according to The Wall Street Journal.
But Tuberville went on to say that NATO expansion has inched closer to Russia’s borders. He asked how the U.S. would react if Russia or China began basing troops in Canada or Mexico.
