Puppy has new life after being rescued by LSC-Tomball police officer
Thomas Tyree usually involves driving the grounds of the school. But on a pleasant morning in August 2022, he felt inspired to change things up.
As Tyree traced the noise around the building to see what he heard, he discovered a puppy in a hole, swarmed with insects and covered with leaves and dirt.“I could tell it wasn't doing good and when it was trying to get up to get more water from me, that's when I realized there was something wrong,” Tyree said. “That's why I went inside to get help because I didn't want to move it or anything; I didn't know how bad the injuries were.
“The dog’s injuries were worse than I thought,” Dr. Angela MacFarlane, program veterinarian, said in a news release. “We had two options. We could put him down because his pain and injuries were so severe, or we could attempt to fix him. The next time Tyree saw the injured puppy, it had successfully undergone medical procedures and had three casts on its legs.
