Tom Holland has shared a glimpse into the SpiderMan group chat between he and fellow Spidey stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. 'Every now and then, someone will blow it up... It always ends with 'love you guys' and we'll be off.'
Tom Holland details what he and his Spider-Man: No Way Home co-stars, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, talk about in their infamous Spider-Man group chat. Blockbusters ended with a bang at the close of 2021 with Spider-Man: No Way Home, the third instalment of the MCU's Spider-Man "Homecoming" trilogy, which promised to cross the confines of the multiverse.
Spider-Man: No Way Home proved to be a major success both financially and critically, with audiences overjoyed to see all three Peter Parkers come together and share moments of camaraderie and mutual respect. This was also another huge step into Marvel’s ongoing exploration of the multiverse, this time with a much more meta approach in bringing back former film incarnations of villains and characters from alternate realities.
"Every now and then... someone would blow it up and then we'll chat for an hour or two and then it always ends with 'love you guys' and we'll be off. And then a couple weeks later, they'll text back after we've broken yet another record. And it's like, 'Can you believe this is happening?' So, it's been a lot of fun getting to know those guys and I've really, really enjoyed it.
Fans will undoubtedly be thrilled to know that the warm and loving dynamic the Spider-Man actors shared on the screen is also present between the three men in real life. It’s understandable that Holland, Maguire and Garfield would form a strong bond, as the number of people that could relate to donning the webbed spandex is very limited. Holland recently stated that he regretted not reaching out to Garfield, from whom he assumed the Spider-Man mantle, when the character was rebooted in the MCU.
The fact that the three Spider-Man actors are still so close is heartwarming, but also raises further speculation around whether Maguire and Garfield’s web-slingers will return past their appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Both actors have expressed interest in returning for the right project and, since they got along so well with Holland, a reunion of the trio would be well within reasonable expectation.
