Amazon has just landed American Speed, a project with two of this generation’s biggest stars, Tom Holland and Austin Butler, attached to star.
American Hustle and Oppenheimer producer Charles Roven will produce the movie through his Atlas Entertainment banner. Additional producers include RD Whittington and Douglas Banker, with Atlas Entertainment’s Ryan Sanak executive producing. Dan Wiedenhaupt is writing the script.
Holland is best known for his role of Peter Parker in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s three Spider-Man installments , as well as in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. Outside the MCU, he also starred in The Impossible, In the Heart of the Sea, The Lost City of Z, The Devil All the Time, Cherry, and Uncharted.
Meanwhile, Butler — whose first roles were in Disney Channel and Nickelodeon shows — received worldwide prominence for his portrayal of Elvis Presley in the 2022 biopic Elvis. Butler’s other credits include Aliens in the Attic, Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure, The Carrie Diaries, The Intruders, The Dead Don’t Die, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, The Bikeriders, Dune: Part Two, and Masters of the Air. He can next be seen in Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming crime thriller, Caught Stealing.
