Tom Hardy reportedly offered to pay £250,000 (around $317,000) of his own money to cover unpaid wages for 50 freelance builders on his latest project when he learned they wouldn't be paid for work completed over the summer. Production companies, 101 Studios and MTV Studios, paid Helix 3D to contract the builders, but Helix 3D is now facing liquidation and workers had yet to be paid months later. Studio bosses intervened after Hardy's generous offer and ensured the workers would be paid.
