Here sees Tom Hanks reunite with director Robert Zemeckis, and the movie includes a sly reference to one of their earlier collaborations. The 2024 drama marks the fifth time that Hanks and Zemeckis have worked together on a movie, as the partnership began in 1994 with Forrest Gump. The Oscar-winning drama and box office hit enticed the duo to work together over the years, although the frequency of their pairing has picked up in recent years.
One Here Line Indirectly References Chuck & Kelly's Reunion In Cast Away ✕ Remove Ads At one point in Here, there is a conversation between a realtor and Al and Rose Young as they are looking to buy Here's main home. Since Al is a World War II veteran, the realtor makes a comment about all the husbands who have come home from the war.
One of the pivotal scenes near the end of Cast Away comes when Chuck goes to talk to Kelly at her house. Before Chuck could knock on the door, Kelly opened it and, for the first time in four years, saw the man she was likely going to marry. Chuck and Kelly's reunion is not identical to the stories the realtor is referring to in Here, but the similarities are apparent.
