“Cool and efficient as it is, Greyhound is lacking in heart.” Read rilaws’s review:

—but probably not earning the attention that a Tom Hanks WWII vehicle could have gotten with a multiplex release.seems like a more minor Hanks movie, though I suspect it might have even under less fraught circumstances. The film is adapted from the 1955 novelfor his directorial outing about the forming of the C.I.A. So Hanks had to name his project after the call sign for the USS, a destroyer used to escort convoy ships from the U.S. to Britain during the Battle of the Atlantic.

All of the actors playing the sailors are heartbreakingly young, just as Krause’s crew would have been in real life. I just wanted some depth behind that array of boyish faces, to feel their humanity in addition to appreciating their courageous utility, and sacrifice. The movie tries to forge a richer connection by way of a head chef character, played by the greatis lacking in heart. The film needn’t be sentimental, but it probably needed a pulse.
