Greg Olsen has put on a clinic this year when it comes to the 6-foot-4 elephant in the room otherwise known as. The Fox NFL color analyst has faced season-long questions about the prospect of Brady replacing him, and he has been direct as well as adroitly self-deprecating in response.
Olsen, just 37, has had a fantastic year and has developed much quicker than top Fox executives and production people expected. When I spoke to Olsen and Burkhardt last week, Olsen provided fantastic perspective on the terrain he was facing. “I knew this year was going to be a weird year because I was going to answer this question every single time. I’ve said this to Kevin. My only option right now to make a career out of this is to be good. That’s it. I didn’t play quarterback. I didn’t play for the. I don’t have a gold jacket on. I didn’t play in New York City. The only way I can do this is if I’m good. Whether that’s good enough in the long run, I don’t know.
