New York Jets starter Aaron Rodgers will be out for the year after an MRI confirmed he tore his Achilles tendon.

Wilson came in after Rodgers’ injury and completed 14 of 21 passes for 140 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the 22-16 win over theon Monday. The Jets will now rely on the former No. 2 overall pick to take the reigns again after a disappointing 2022 season. Jets head coach Robert Saleh told reporters after Monday’s win that Wilson will be the guy for the Jets if Rodgers is out for the season.
“I thought he was awesome,” Saleh said of Wilson’s performance on Monday. “He had a couple of big third-down throws, clutch throws, to extend drives and score points. I thought his command of the huddle, the line of scrimmage, I thought he was gritty, he was creative off-schedule, scrambled for a big one. He threw the interception and still bounced back. It didn’t snowball into anything big. We still have a lot of faith in him.
