Both the Chinese Embassy and Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos have been invited to attend the Senate investigation into the alleged recording of a supposed “new model” deal with China, Senator Francis Tolentino said Sunday.
Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, the lawmaker said that a “polite invitation,” not a subpoena, was sent to the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines, as well as the Consul General of China.Tolentino said the Chinese Embassy in Manila cannot be compelled to face the investigation due to diplomatic protocols and international law. He, however, pointed out that a case may be filed against diplomats if they are found violating the laws of the host country.
